Comments Thread For: Porter: Excitement, Not Pressure From Fighting on PBC

The debut of “Premiere Boxing Champions?has come and gone, with Adrien Broner topping John Molina and Keith Thurman defeating Robert Guerrero this past weekend on NBC. The series continues with this Friday’s first show on Spike TV, which will include Shawn Porter vs. Roberto Garcia and Andre Berto vs. Josesito Lopez.

Porter says the spotlight on the ambitious “PBC?venture is adding more to his drive and is not at all to his detriment.

broner said similar things before his fight and then stunk it up. porter is hinting he might stink it up with his "we can ****, BUT WE CAN BOX". Garcia is a ****er and if you wanna show you can **** show it. that's what could make this fight exciting. otherwise this could be a dud and porter will follow in Broner's footsteps. we will have to wait and see. talk is cheap.

Porter doesn't come off as a boring fighter and I don't think Garcia just going to stand there and do nothing like Molina did so I'm certain this will be a more interesting match.

We'll still wait and see, though.

I like Shawn Porter a lot but hes just not very good. In literally every single fight he ends up crowding himself and clinching. It's like hes never able to get off his punches.

I gotta give Berto respect because at the very least hes always in an competitive and entertaining fight. More so than Broner even.

Porter has a busy activity rate, good power, speed, and angles.

He's going to look great on this big stage. His opponent is nowhere near his level.

A problem is more fights with no belts at stake.

How is that a problem? The alphabet soup trinkets are killing boxing. There can be only one champ. Educated fight fans ignore the belts. TBRB are the only rankings that matter.
