Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Pacquiao: Heavy Betting on Manny in Vegas

If the betting action continues in the current pattern, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao may potentially become the odds-on favorite in his mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas sports books are currently receiving a ton of action on the fight and most of the money is being wagered on Pacquiao by a significant margin.

According to Jimmy Vaccaro, who booked money on every big fight for the past four decades in Las Vegas, the better action was never this close for a Mayweather event since Mayweather's breakout fight against Oscar De La Hoya in 2007.

This is Floyd doing all the betting thorough his cronies. He knows if he gets enough money on Pacquiao to win, there's no way they will give Pac a decision. Floyd knows our city as well as anyone and he knows what its all about. Money.

People are just realizing this fight is closer than ever. Its the epidemy of a perfect matchup and story line. Defensen vs offense, good vs bad, introvert vs extravert, nation vs nation. All boils down on May 2nd and who will be allowed bragging rights. Much respect to both in making this fight happen.

Agreed, respect to both men. Although I believe Floyd was backed Into a corner with no other options. IF the rumors were true that Floyds last two fights lost the amount of money they supposedly did then this fight will certainly make up for It. All we can hope for Is a good solid fight with honest fair judging. It has been so long that the fight Is probably going to be hard to live up to expectations. Whoever wins this fight deserves It and all the excuses when It's over also need to be over.

Anyone with half a brain is going to wait till the very last second to bet Mayweather for this exact reason. The publics perception (the casuals) are throwing this line all out of wack if the people who are looking to drop big money on Floyd do so now they are selling themselves short they will continue to get better odds as the fight date nears...

Trust me people will bet Floyd and when they do they will bet big...
People would've gladly put up big money on Floyd @-300 or -200 because that still sounded like value. Getting even money on Floyd or god forbid Floyd is the dog? Lol A GIFT FROM GOD coming from a gamblers perspective...

Wow I wish I would've been smart enough to have out big money on PAC early and then I could turn around and throw something bigger on Floyd if it gets to even money ... My luck it ends in a draw. If have to cover that angle too. Lol

Then why did he say he had a surprise last year? Why would Floyd care if Showtime made money or not, he would get his regardless! Pac's PPV numbers were in the toilet, not Floyds.
