In the televised opener, 22-year old Jr. Lightweight Adrian Young (21-1-2, 17 KO), 130, of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, was apparently in a hurry to get to his Valentine’s Day plans. He needed only 2:39 of round one to finish 22-year old Josue Veranza (17-6-1, 12 KO), 128, of Mexico City. A left hand landing to the armpit sent Veranza to the floor. Veranza would get to all fours but made no further effort to beat the count of referee Octaviano Lopez.
