Rigondeaux vs. Shingo Wake in Japan Possibly Next

    Per Gary Hyde:

Yeah, well right now Shingo Wake is the guy we were supposed to fight over there. He has said openly that he wanted to fight Rigondeaux. Now he fights on 27th February in Tokyo, and if he comes through that, they'll be reaching out to us, and then we'll be reaching out to them as well of course, and we'll make the fight there because there's nothing else for Rigondeaux right now. There's nobody else out there who'll fight him, and we have to go to Asia for it.
He also mentioned that Yamanaka can be after Wake if he decides to move up. Looks like Rigo will be in Japan all of this year.

Whatever happened to the Roc Nation discussions? They went away after his visit to New York.

        Shingo Wa... QUE???

I have seen him once against Oguni. He's a decent operator.

Roc Nation seems to be in a mess right now... coupled with the fact that Carribe is a big barrier for Rigo to sign with other promoters.

He should just stay out there and have the Japanese start a tournament called "Who can beat the Cuban". Give him 4 fights a year.

Whatever the case, it looks like they've got something going in Japan. I think the Yamanaka fight would be huge. It's a much more competitive fight than Santa Cruz.
