WBC super middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell is not too thrilled with the World Boxing Council ordering him to face mandatory challenger George Groves in the near future. Dirrell will be allowed a voluntary defense in the first quarter of 2015 and then the winner of that fight will have to defend the belt against Groves or vacate the title.

Dirrell wants Groves to further prove himself, after the British star suffered back to back knockout defeats to Carl Froch. Groves has since won two in a row.

Dirrell sounds worried.we all know Groves can box,and Dirrell gave a good showcase of his own talents in the second Dirrell fight.should make for a good fight.

I agree though,Dirrell needn't travel,far too many dubious decisions and stoppages in the Isle of Dogs lately.Warren and Hearn are shady.

****off.... Even in his two losing efforts to Froch he more than proved he is world level! Plus he beat James Degale, Rebrasse & Smith who was robbed vs Abraham last time out... What's Dirrell done? Drawn & won against an ancient & inactive Bika.. Who does Dirrell think he is? *****ing about title defenses already is not a good sign! Both Dirrells are absolute *****es man! Sounds to me like he doesnt fancy it & he's trying to downplay a genuinely exciting British SMW... problem with Groves now is he seems to be regressing under Fitzpatrick, Groves of Froch fights beats Dirrell, now its 50/50..
