Do you Wlad of today would have beaten Corrie Sanders?

Sometimes great fighters just come across a guy that has their number, I think that would have been the case with Klitschko-Sanders.

Sanders for me was one of the most underrated HW's of his era. I think his southpaw style would always give Wlad problems. He was a fast starter, threw explosive straight punches and he also was a big guy.
He also had big brother Klitschko in trouble early, but Vitali had the chin and strength, to tire down the South African in a good fight.

Do you think today's Wlad would get the job done or do you think his style would always be wrong for Klitschko?

    Speculation.

I mean it took a crack binge breakdown for Lewis to revenge his loss to McCall. Wlad never got the chance at sanders.

wlad was loading up with his right hand in that fight and left himself wide open. all hed have to do is be his normal cautious self and sanders would tire quickly like he always did. I think wlad of today would have stopped sanders late

That style in combo with Sanders' attributes would always bother Wlad. Sanders fought wide open so it'd still be a matter of who lands first. A real shame there was no rematch. An even bigger shame about his death.

Lets not screw around, todays Wlad would have Absolutely murdered Sanders.

If you look at Wlad then and now it's a world of difference. First of all, Wlad now is much bigger, muscular and carries more power. Wlad ten years ago couldn't throw the kind of shots he throws now and definitely not the punch he KOd Pulev with. I say Wlad of today definitely would have beaten Corrie Sanders. Even Wlad two to three years after their fight improved and could have beaten Sanders. Wlad back during their first fight wasn't that great and nowhere near what he was a few years later let alone now.

Both guys could take each other out, then & now. Saunders was hurting Vitali in their fight before Vitali overpowered him. Wlad would likely get hurt again, but he's much more adapt at surviving now, thus giving him the chance to stop Saunders.

I watched the first fight again the other night. Sanders catches Wlad at some point again. He had the size and power to step to Wlad, wouldn't have been an easy guy to hold either.

Wlad still freezes and leaves opportunities when punches come his way, especially in combination - that's just his natural instinct, but he's lessened the window of opportunity. It's like he's fighting his natural instinct in there but he's learned how to cope with it. Still, I don't see how Sanders wouldn't at least rattle him in the rematch, but Wlad probably would fight/hold through it and Sanders would eventually lose his steam and crumble.
