Comments Thread For: Cuadras To Defend WBC Belt Against Salgado on 9/20

Mexican puncher Jose "Sugar" Salgado will challenge the super flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Carlos 'Prince' Cuadras on September 20 in Guamúchil, Sinaloa. Although initially it was said that the Philippine ex-world champion Sonny Boy Jaro would be the opponent for the month of September, krikya360.com reported a few days ago that Cuadras-Jaro was getting pushed back to a date in November. Salgado (34-2-1, 27 KOs) is on a run of eight wins, three of them won by knockout. For Cuadras (30-0, 24 KO's) it will be the first defense of his world title.

Strange events surrounding Cuadras they have to be angling for a FS1 date or something televised the day mentioned for Jaro is a Thursday in DC , ethnicity aside they're SuperFly weights that has no selling point unless it's underneath more regional type fights.

Salgado should be a test his only recent loss is too Liborio Solis who can fight.

Salgado has fought weak opposition...his last bout I saw on MX tv & he was down in the 1st, though he won...can't c him denting CC, even w/his inflated record...I'd guess Sony Boy comes b4 years end...
