I hate the spectacle Floyd has become.

I hate that he is the SOLE reason the fight with Pacquiao never happened (and likely won't until well after it truly determines who the best was at their height).

But the fans need to shut up about the gloves. Would they have said a damn thing about the gloves if Maidana had won the first fight? Conversely, if Maidana had been able to use his original gloves, and he had lost, what then? Or if he wins with his unpadded gloves, would people have given Floyd the excuse?

This was a no-win situation on the internet no matter how it went down.

The proof is that the gloves were rejected by the commission when it was brought to their attention and the fact that the gloves came wrapped in seran wrap.

Yes. The first pair, blue gloves, was not approved. The NSAC brought out some approved "red" gloves and floyd still said no.

Maidana did recently say that the gloves aren't really that big of a deal. He needs to land clean, hard punches in order to beat Mayweather. He could go in the ring with a baseball bat, but if he can't hit Floyd, it won't matter. Garcia's just f'ing with Mayweather, because he's challenging Chino to bet his purse.

not going to lie, the first pair looked really fishy and it did seem like it had no padding. However, if the 2nd pair were acceptable than Mayweather should have let Maidana wear them.

You think he should have said its ok you tried to cheat me so you can have what you want , its easy to see your not the one being punched , what they tried to do is a same as Panama Lewis who was jailed for 2 years for removing padding from the gloves of his fighter that ultimately destroyed the life of another .

Thats understandable. Dont forget that he also had plater of paris in his gloves, too. But, since then they have it so that doesn't happen again. And the NSAC had some approved gloves (the red ones) and mayweather still said no. I don't really know. I was referring to the "missing padding" though. Gloves are usually checked out by the other fighters trainer. But what I dont get is how mayweather said no to NSAC approved gloves. Hundreds of fighters use those gloves. Even mayweather has used them. hell, cotto in his fight with mayweather used them. Even fighters in the mayweather-maidana undercard used them.

If I were Floyd I'd be more worried about Maidana working with Victor Conte. He'll make up for the loss of the MX gloves.
