You telling me that Maidana, a guy with 4 losses and a guy that Mayweather just beat, is a better fight than him fighting undefeated Thurman, Brook, Porter, or Andrade? All of these guy's are young, have speed, and can box. Floyd has a gauranteed deal so don't say it's about the money because he is getting paid regardless. Don't say he can't make the fight either because he is the cash cow of the sport, he can fight anybody that he wants.

Floyd may have had the potential to be the best ever at junior lightweight, and possibly maybe lightweight.

Welterweight not even close. I could name many guys, even from the 80's or 90's, who would beat him, and some who would flatten him.

This is an era of small welterweights. Most of them are really just blown up lightweights. Guys back then were more loose, not as tightly muscled, and generally, had the height that would wreak a lot of trouble on the Philly Shell of a shorter fighter.

I can think of guys like Leonard, and more seriously, Tommy Hearns, who would be terrible, and I mean terrible match-up for floyd.

Skill for skill Floyd has DRASTICALLY separated himself from those fighters and side by side, they come across as sloppy bums with power.

Thats why its hard for me to not catagorize ya dig? Like they have better resumes, and he's the best fighter of all time based on skills.

And not ONCE did I mention his titles, weight classes, or undefeated record. Even if he fought to 200-0 record, his skillset would distract me from everything else.
This is the most ignorant logic I have ever read on these boards. Go research great fighters of the past and learn something about the sport because you don't have a clue.

I've always thought that out of the Fab Four Duran was the guy who'd beat Floyd most convincingly.

              It just my opinion though

Where did you hear that lie?

"Probably 8-4 [Mayweather], give or take," remarked undefeated super middleweight king Andre Ward.

Khan, Guerrero, Pacquiao admittedly (idk how he fights @147, it looks like he could make LW), JMM, Bradley, Floyd, Hatton earlier..
Bigger WW's would be Margarito, Williams, Porter, Thurman, Brook

You cannot be serious. Many of these guys aren't even Welterweights. They are Jr. Middleweights and full-fledged Middleweights, fighting at Welterweight, a division where they do not belong. Many just shrink down to Welter and toss on a chunk of water (blowing right back up to where they normally weigh). Lots take drugs on the low just to shrink down.

The guys of the old eras didn't do this kinda thing so much like they do today.

Pacquaio fights at 147 because that is what he walks around at naturally. All he is doing is fighting at a weight where he naturally belongs. The problem for Pacquaio is that his opponents are not doing the same thing. They don't belong in his division, they usually belong in a higher division. Pacquaio is correct, his opponents are usually incorrect.
