It would have to be Jmm vs PAC. Both dudes brought the same spirit that they brought 3 times before. Marquez's seemingly insane game plan, The knockdown, the PAC comeback, and the knock out. Very few sports rivalries have the subtext, the crazy fanbase, and dramatic ending.

Honorable mentions to Hagler vs Hearns. I remember being heartbroken when Sugar ray beat Hagler, and Duran vs Ray 1 is etched in my mind forever

I would have to say it is still Benn v McClellan. Although the fight ended in tragic circumstances, I was bouncing around the room, throwing air punches and shouting at the TV from start to finish.

Benn was a ferocious puncher in his prime and dangerous when hurt. They stood toe to toe throughout and Benn was on the brink of being stopped several times, but weathered the storm and came back.

        Brutal

Note....you don't have to say Corrales-Castillo coz you thought that was the greatest fight or Gatti-Ward, Ali-Frazier etc.....YOUR favorite fight and explain why?
oh man, come on, just picking one? damn it!!!

          I could mention either Ali/Frazier 1 or 3
          ALi/Foreman
          SRL/Hearns
          Duran/SRL 1

          more recently the likes of Maidana/Khan, Garcia/Matthysse, Molina/Matthysse, Pacquiao/JMM 1,2,4, Pacquiao/Barrera, Cotto/Marg 1, Martinez/Pavlik/Williams 2, Benn/Watson/Eubank...

But I'm going, as my personal favourite, Morales v Pacquiao 1, a fight in which we saw the great Erik Morales, that most brutal of warriors, for the last time. He was never the same again, and that change to southpaw...oh man!

probably gatti - ward 1, but it's really too hard for me to whittle it down to one fight. fights can just be so different.

              Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis.

6 rounds of action packed suspense. Everybody really loves that fight.

Take a roomful of people who don't even like boxing, put that fight on and suddenly everybody is glued to the set.

Also features one of the best aftermaths and post-fight drama of all fights!

That certainly was a dramatic fight. I have never seen a man broken down like that. At the beginning of the fight Cotto had complete confidence. In the middle of the fight it was starting to fade but Cotto was still fighting, still believing in himself, still believing that if he kept fighting he could win and Margarito would slow down.

But Margarito never slowed down. By the end of the fight Cotto's confidence was completely gone, he had accepted that Margarito was stronger than him and he was just surviving until Margarito took everything.
