Froch has already faced Ward in Ward's backyard. Andre Ward is the one who needs to man up and return the favour, if he really does want the fight.

andre ward has a 5000 kilometer backyard

atlantic city isn't that much further away from london than it is from oakland.

i haven't seen the ward - froch fight in a while, but to go on the judges scorecards is absolutely absurd. they almost had that fight a draw.

IIRC, ward won the 12th, and i gave froch the 11th. i would have to go back and score it again to know for sure. ward had two broken bones in his left hand by the 12th round, and has always had a bad right shoulder. he had won virtually every round up to that point, and was in no danger at all of losing the fight on any reasonable card.

perhaps i'll watch the end of the fight. it's great for my confidence. it feels good to see a grown, american man fathering british children.

      just watched 11

      will watch 12.

11 is a clear ward round. the british commentators are suggesting that ward is tired, so that's probably what you're talking about when you say you thought he was tired.

i actually watch the fights, you know, and don't listen to commentators as gospel.

you score the effect of punches. the fighter who lands the more effective punches wins the round. you can win a round on the ropes. everything else is a means to and end. you can be backing up and win a round. you can be buying time and still win a round. all you need to do is land the more effective punches. let's move forward with that in mind.

the british commentators are supporting their guy, and appealing to their fans, and i understand it. that's what's going on when they refer to froch "looking fresher" in the 12th, in spite of the fact that the round is even at best, and honestly should be scored to ward.

froch cannot land clean punches on ward. he's too slippery, and goes from outside to inside with too much intellegence. when ward's inside, froch can't hit him. when he's at range, in spite of froch's longer arms, he can't hit him. froch is dangerous at a middle distance, and ward is hardly ever there.

the prince is a great fighter. froch has a great chin and great heart.

there's a huge gap in class between the two. i might try and watch the rest of this fight. it feels good to see a talent getting rewarded for all of his hard work. that's what life is about.

god bless america. holy f#ck do i love this fighter. somebody please acknowledge how good he is.

my "love for andre ward" campaign started largely as a joke.

people saw my avatar, assumed i was a die hard ward fan, and would rib me for it. i'd play along. we have fun here.

my avatar was originally selected because it had a child in it. i was going through a point in my life where i went from not understanding the impact of fathering children, to a point where i'm starting to get it. it also had an american flag. i think the meaning of an american flag should never be lost on a boxing website. mecca is in las vegas. it used to be in new york. it's speculated by serious boxing historians that more fighters boxed out of new york state in the 20's than box out of the entire world today . this has historically been a largely american sport.

next came andre ward. he was the third reason for me keeping his glorious mugshot as my long term avatar. i wasn't all that much of a fan, outside of appreciating a great boxer who takes on all comers. a dog loves a bone.

the more i talk about this young man, and the more i watch him, the more i grow to admire him. he's done everything right in the ring. everything. he's a consummate winner. his mind is more talented than his body. he weathers rough patches. he adjusts. it's thrilling to see him figure other fighters out.

i don't like what goossen is doing to the career of a great fighter, but i get it. ward himself is also to blame for his promotional issues. i just want to see this young man in the ring boxing his way to UD wins.

**** Ward! Froch has been chasing Ward ever since the first fight but Ward didn't want it. Also Froch publicly stated after the first Groves fight that he was looking at his options and Wards name came up. Ward however tried to make a fight with Groves happen instead which pretty much limited Froch's options (even though we all knew/hoped the Groves rematch was always gonna happen). So **** all you people hating on Froch right now. Ward is getting a taste of his own medicine and he totally deserves it. The 168 pound division is passing him by even though he is the top guy. Serves him right for managing to **** everything up for himself.
I hope Carl fights in Vegas and makes a ton of money. End of.

Based on what? I think Carl is too stubborn to believe that and if Ward didn't make such a mess of his own career he would be given a golden ticket to fight Froch straight away in his next fight.
People like you are missing the bigger picture here. Didn't Eddie Hearn publicly dis Ward recently? Eddie is in Froch's ear and he is basically laying out how bad a decision it would be to fight Ward right now because he brings zero to the table.
You're trying to make it sound as if Froch is scared of Ward...that's laughable. Ward isn't hard enough to hurt Froch but yes we all know he is technically gifted enough to beat him. Froch for sure fancies his chances against Ward because he is tougher than Ward and could knock him out(or wobble him which ultimately would equate to him stopping Ward) if he lands the right shot during 12 rounds.
Ward is to blame for this situation. Not Froch.

Whether one likes him or not, it is a shame that such a talent goes to waste like this.
