He really showed more than I was expecting which was a KO win and even though he didn't KO Stiverne, he showed that he IS capable of going 12 rounds (really impressive considering that he has never seen 5 rds before) and boxing giving a situation where a guy doesn't fold under his power.
There was no reason to hate him really. I picked against him in this fight but I feel like I've had to come to his defense numerous times on why he was being brought along so slow - a lot to do with his daughter and simply fighting to earn a check to sustain. Finally the network has told that story and it should give perspective now. His opponents weren't much but I'm sure his real fans like you I'm assuming put stock into the idea that he was putting in major work behind the scenes, quietly.

For a guy with those attributes to look busted up, means that he had to have taken a ton of punishment in that fight. I'm talking to a level that most people probably couldn't fathom, much less withstand.
        I beg your pardon?

Agreed. I hope Stiverne is alright and recovers from this. He's an extremely tough fighter and will be back taking these young heavyweights to school again soon.

Some of the many ways Wilder surprised me tonight. I was wrong with me prediction.
I was also wrong and very surprised by Wilder. The jab and right hand are legitimate. And he took punches well.

He scarcely took a clean shot.

Wilder impressed me, but Stiverne was awful. Almost no head movement and a pathetic excuse for a jab. Wilder simply couldn't miss with the straight right.

Wilder took plenty of clean shots.
