Comments Thread For: Robert Garcia: Everyone Loses, Mayweather No Exception

Nearly every great fighter in boxing history has suffered a loss. Very few fighters walked away undefeated. Fighters like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr., George Foreman, Sugar Ray Robinson and Marvin Hagler were all perceived to be invincible at certain points of their respective careers. All of them suffered defeats.

Trainer Robert Garcia believes the same thing will happen to Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs), stating - "The very best fighters have lost. Leonard lost, Ali lost."

One punch can end any fight, but don't send Maidaina in ring with MW thinking he is Broner. Huge Mistake.

"Show me an undefeated fighter, and ill show you somebody who hasnt really fought anybody."

That old time tested boxing quote still stands true to this very day.

If you look at all the undefeated "all time greats" they all have serious question marks as to why they retired undefeated:

Rocky Marciano - mob controlled era. should have lost the walcott fight but the mafia wanted to continue his undefeated record schtick.

Ricardo Lopez - who did this guy really fight and how come he never moved up to fight great fighters like carbajal, chiquita gonzalez, and galaxy? He had the frame to move up but stayed in his bulimic model division fighting boxers skinnier than rawandan refugees.

Joe Calzaghe - finally fought big names when both where in their 40s and proceeded to get dropped by both senior citizens. Imagine what would have happened had calzaghe fought hop and roy jr in their primes.

Floyd jr. - Do i even need to go over this? Has never fought a legit hall of famer in their prime and his best win is diego corrales.

If you look in the hall of fame, almost every single true all time great has had losses. It means you were tested, it means you didnt cherry pick.

How you bounce back from a loss is a true mark of a great champion.

Floyd has less chance of losing than those greats though, as Floyd don't fight as much.
When Floyd became p4p no1 and RJJ, Hamed, and Barrera dropped from their thrones, Floyd took no1 top spot and became the name olf boxing and proceeded to go AWOL and let Pac do the majority of fighting.

Losing to Maidana makes Mayweather an ATG winning doesn't.
