Lomachenko should have been awarded the decision if a point was actually deducted. There is no way you can argue that clinching is worse than repeated low blows. Cole has to be the most corrupt referee and Salido doesn't deserve any respect for that bull**** he pulled. Disgusting!

I thought both fighters had their strong points and weak points. I liked the body attack from Salido and the blocking ability of Lomachenko. Salido fought a very smart fight. However, I felt Salido went low way too much and Lomachenko held way too much. I think if Lomachenko had gone to the body more and thrown more punches, he would have won. Lomachenko was just too tentative in there. But it does say something that in his second professional fight, a guy who never went beyond five went twelve with Salido, dealt with a massive weight advantage and countless low blows, and finished stronger than his opponent. I think the fight showed Lomachenko has a lot of potential. He also has some wrinkles he needs to work out. Give him a few fights to improve, and any referee besides Cole and Mora, and he probably beats Salido in a rematch.

Shocking how many times he got away with them.

With the clinching you could understand, that might have been a bit too complex for the twat to make a call on but lowblows are as obvious as they come, and the prick couldn't even manage to do anything about them.

          Horrific referee.

            Salido-Lomachenko punch stats
            Salido Lomachenko
            Landed 142 164
            Thrown 645 441
            Pct 22% 37%

297 of Salido's 645 were low blows. Take into account deduction which should have been for that, and the better, cleaner and higher number of punches landed by Lomachenko IMO means it should have been AT LEAST a draw. Don't think Vasyl won this fight but statistically and in reality I think the draw was the best possible, and fairest result. Would have been a minor jot on both men's records and would have set up a nice rematch.

and how can salido gain respect? salido fought as a welterweight, fought dirty, he's tagged with cole, 2 people vs 1-0 guy in the ring? and he held loma's arms for most in the championship round

Exactly. And the holding wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be.
