Those who buy this PPV are morons. Boxing in the US is following the path of WWE when it should be trying to emulate closer to the UFC model. Floyd even performed in the WWE and clearly learned alot from it. He disrespects the UFC but would never have the balls to compete there. Right on. And it's so frustrating because, clearly, the talent is still there in US boxing. The problem is that money men, not boxing men, control everything. And their priority is protecting their investment, not staging good fights.
As a UK fan, it annoys the heck out of me that US world champions will never fight abroad against a live opponent. They have to have home advantage every time. But when champions from other countries - eg the Klit brothers, Carl Froch, Ricky Burns - refuse to defend their titles in the US for less money than can get at home, this is always sold to the fans as the overseas guy ducking the American.

Its true. Lets be honest Khan is at Rock Bottom he can only go up in hype, Maidana is on a all time high and he can only go down in hype.

So taking Maidana now makes sense, cause if Mayweather waits and Maidana takes an L thats it the Maidana hype will be over. Khan can get a statement victory in may and get the Mayweather fight in septemeber.

I agree with the selection and the reasons. It was obvious who had more momentum going into his fight. Khan has too many demerits in being a serious challenger with having no notable wins lately and never have fought at WW.

I always said that Khan not taking that Alexander fight was going to complicate things for him.

On the flip side it was wrong for Floyd to be stringing Khan on.

I can. If Amir Khan had beaten Devon Alexander and won the IBF WW title, he would have gotten the Mayweather fight. That's all he needed to do. Floyd was never going to fight him without Khan coming off some type of meaningful win.
