in 2004, the supreme court of MA determined that it was unconstitutional [according to the state constitution,] to prevent gays from marrying.

churches in massachusetts aren't required to allow gay people to marry, but many of them do.

i'm led to believe that most of the gay marriages in MA are performed by the state, and not in churches. the marriages are binding, though, and do include all of the rights and benefits that come with being married.

four or five of every 100 marriages in massachusetts are same *** marriages.

I understand that, but Holyfield's comments were ******, ignorant and offensive. Do you believe a doctor can change a person's ***ual orientation? I hope not. It's ignorant because the procedure doesn't exist. It's ****** because to assume doctors have that ability is like assuming they can make you eight feet tall. Finally, it's offensive because saying those things implies that you're diseased if you like people of the same ***.

The fact that those comments came from a celebrity makes it all the worse. There are a lot of impressionable people in the world. They tend to digest the remarks of people they respect. If Holyfield said he thought gays were no different than the rest of us and should be allowed to marry, it would probably help to change the outlook of a few people.

You have a right to kill in self-defense, not to kill indiscriminately. The same goes for the right to free speech.

Freedom of speech is a privilege that people shouldn't take advantage of.

By the way, I am Christian too. But I'm not ****** enough to take what an ancient book, written by man, said 1500 years ago., literally.
LOL, there is so much ******ity in this post.

******, freedom of speech is a right it is not a privilege. And Holyfield has the right to say what he believes even if it not acceptable to the lefties trying to push their agenda on us and f@gs like you.

Also you are a christian that doesn't believe in the bible and yet you have the nerve to call someone else ignorant.

Striking people when you're angry and stealing things are crimes. You are injuring people that do not wish to be injured. They are not consenting. Two consenting males (or females) having ***ual relations is not criminal because it doesn't injure anyone.

Having regular *** with multiple women is more of a moral and philosophical issue. In my opinion, it's okay, as long as you and the women you're bedding are okay with it. If someone is being hurt, like an unknowing wife, it's wrong, but not on a criminal level.

I don't think either of you two have the position to teach me about Christianity and/or religion. The two of you, I assume based on your ignorant answers to this thread, are completely unaware of how the 27 books of the New Testament has been incorrectly translated from its original Greek, to latin, to Lutheran and has lost a lot of it's meaning through time resulting in false meanings in the modern bible.

To think that a sensationalist who claim that *******uality is wrong/could be cured by a doctor and/or condone the belittling of a race/specific part of society - can question my religion and my understanding of Christianity is laughable.

Anyways, keep telling me how I'm not Christian.
Spoken like a true athiest. Next you'll tell me Christ was misquoted in the Bible when he said man was made for woman and woman for man. And this is the same Christ you " CLAIM" to follow. man please, if i didn't read the bible everyday and was a new convert then maybe you could get away with the dumb stuff you're saying. No need in even debating with your ignorance. Go pick up the word man.

Interesting information. I don't watch much news. Too much of it is depressing. But I catch wind of the bigger items. Some of that stuff was in the back of my mind.

I can see some of the more progressive churches allowing gay marriage, but it's likely to be a long time before the Catholic Church allows it, if ever. The church is steeped in tradition, so change is very slow to come. It speaks volumes that the current and previous pope have started to reach out to gay men and women.

It would be like a ****** priest telling ******s that Jesus was the only prophet. It would go against what the religion was about.

The Old Testament frowns on *******uality. But please tell me the book and verse where Jesus says what you just claimed he said.

There was once a thing called freedom of speech ... it died a long time ago.

Now what we have is a Politically Correct **** brigade that goes insane whenever anybody says something that conflicts with their viewpoint/agenda.

It says "Man was not made for woman, but woman was made for man." That does nothing to change the fact that the bible Is against *******uality.
