Why??? This time last year he was making his lightweight debut.

broner came in light because he knows hes gotta move! maidana came in light because he knows he'll be working hard cutting the ring off and bashing broner up!! those underwater punch drills were worth it

First thought was also surprised broner came in that light, but on second thought its not so surprising if he just went for the best shape possible so that he could constantly move during the entire fight.

Standing and trading with maidana, effectively turning it into a war of wills/attrition, would not be smart. He might win that type of fight, but its not smart. I'm guessing the weight is an indication broner won't be so stationary sat night.
