Ward hasn't faced a serious threat since Kessler. In that fight Ward resorted to the same dirty boring tactics he does when he can't come up with a legit answer. Most people consider this a shotty bs win. People act as though his skills are top notch. They aren't in the like of Mayweather or Rigo, so people please stop pretending Ward is a boxing god. He isn't.

As for Kovalev, I highly doubt Ward's people will jump at the opportunity. It's way to much risk for little reward. But Ward should move up. 168 is probably the weakest division in boxing at the moment. I mean really?! JCC is ranked #4 for ***sake. That tells the story. Much more competiton at 175!

Golovkin will fight Ward before Kovalev. He's smaller, less of a risk, and a bigger name in the states. Plus that's a fight HBO may push for.

Lol 168 is one of the strongest in boxing, Kovalev got his record beating tailor made fighters, glass chinned guys like Sillakh and Campillo, and a c level fighter like Cleverly.

Chavez is ranked that low just because his name, you and I both know it so stop acting ******.

still sleeping on a guy who hasn't been taken into the 5th round by world class opposition?
Ward is in a tough position. There is no big payday @ 168, and since he doesn't have a hit tv show, he's a little bit out of luck. Unlike Mayweather who can literally fight anybody and make huge PPV numbers, he can not. And being in his position at the top, he will definitely not bend to any requests. So forget a fight in Nottingham against Froch, and I don't expect him to travel to Montreal to face Bute/ Pascal either.

Still, for all that Ward deserves, he was (still might be) a fighter who didn't care about anything except his legacy and leaving his mark. Lately, he's been hungry for the money and unfortunately, these guys who can give him the payday don't have to bend to him.
