Comments Thread For: Murray: Sturm is Fading Dramatically, Barker Wins

Martin Murray has backed Darren Barker to defend his world title against Felix Sturm in Germany.

Barker will make the first defence of his IBF middleweight belt against Sturm in Stuttgart this Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

Murray is one of Barker's British rivals, but the St Helens man still has a lingering dislike of Sturm after he was held to draw by the German in 2011.

Murray, Barker, Macklin and Lee - all class acts. I really hope Barker does a murk job on Sturm, as brutally and career-endingly as possible.

Brave decision defending in Germany after what happened to Murray and Macklin. Got a feeling they'll need to invoke the rematch clause if it goes to a decision because if Sturm is still standing after 12 I don't see Barker getting the decision.

scoring didn't really favour sturm in his last few fights, and there were all very close.

they do have a rematch clause for England should he lose. SHAW also had an option on him

Sturm is being underestimated.Sturm isn't being afforded the credit he deserves,Barker is in for a rude awakening.

I don't feel Sturm has been credited with his performances in the last two years,he beat Soliman IMO and could possibly have a case for a draw vs Geale, and obliterated Zbik in devastating fashion.its absurd to think he is some form of major decline,he's been competitive to the last bell and hits like a mule kicks, not only that but he is trained by one of,if not the best trainer in Germany.

                WAR Sturm.
