100% defensive doesn't mean "sweet science"

Just visit the site when Rios is fighting and leave this for us that appreciate the science.

when Lara beats Trout i guarantee he fights another eliminator, GBP are not bringing Lara nowhere near the rusty metal or Floyd.

    BEST CURRENT FIGHTERS
    FLOYD MAYWEATHER
    GUILLERMO RIGONDEAUX
    ERISLANDY LARA
I just can't understand why there are people that like to associate Mayweather Jr and his clones' 100%-defensive and boring style of fighting with the term "sweet science" and call "casual fans" anybody who isn't into that --again boring-- style of fighting. I've watched boxing for years, I'm not a "casual fan" and I will always prefer watching people like Manny Pacquiao at his best or Mike Tyson and even Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., I mean people who go forward all the time and do not fear being hit. I call Mayweather's and his clones' style the "cowardly style of fighting" not the "sweet science". Guys like those are always bound to lose anyways, it's just a matter of time. The "sweet science" means boxing in general, no matter the style, not the 100% cowardly-defensive style that Floyd has made so popular. Ah, and BTW he is not undefeated, Castillo defeated him in their first fight, and Castillo is a fighter with a style opposite to Floyd's, yet it's still "sweet science".

Those type of fighters you speak so highly of. The ones who go all out offense. They tend to have relatively short careers. Why? because they have no defense. There is an offense (punching) and a defense (not getting punch) part of this sport. Mike Tyson had amazing head movement for defense and Manny Pacquiao uses position and footwork for defense fairly well, but the exciting fighters who offer very little defense are almost always done by 33 years old. The defense fighters who do it well will almost always beat the brawler. There is so much more skill involved in fighters like Lara, Mayweather, Hopkins, JMM, and the other fighters you say are boring. Don't get me wrong though, I love a good brawl as much as the next guy, but I appreciate the high level of skill those defensive guys possess. Most of the time when they do lose, they get robbed because judges these days just give rounds to whoever throws more punches. They forget that most if not all of the punches don't land clean on the defensive fighter. I'll agree with you that it's not the most exciting style, but give them a chance. It can be amazing how these guys control the ring and make the brawlers they face discouraged.

Trout Is A Warrior; He Has A Great Future, Has The Right Mindset!

I would love to see him knockout both Sergio Martinez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. He has all the tools to do that, plus he is more mature than most with his gifts and has a prosperous career still ahead. Floyd would never fight him. He's about two or three fights away from a potential war with GGG, and he still deserves a rematch at some point with Canelo. This guy comes to fight. And he has a great attitude. Right now he has enough game he'd blow thru Macklin & Murray.
