Comments Thread For: Sabillo, Buitrago Fight To A Draw; Melindo Tops Rodriguez

Carlos Buitrago managed to maintain his unbeaten record on the road in the Philippines - just not in the manner for which he hoped.

The 21-year old Nicaraguan came just shy of unseating 105 lb. titlist Merlito Sabillo, as the unbeaten strawweights fought to a 12-round draw Saturday evening in Manlia, Philippines. Scores were 115-113 Buitrago, 115-113 Sabillo and 114-114 even.

Carlos Buitrago was robbed, he clearly wins this one

Another hometown decision. I feel sorry for the Nicaraguan guy.

I have to see the replay of this fight. Draws involving hometown fighters usually mean robberies.

sabillo should relinquish his belt to the real winner and that is buitrago...im sick watching hometown decisions...judges are getting idiots nowadays...

and i would say that judges in that fights are not only corrupt but inept...

I won't say he got robbed but I can see why people think he won the fight. Though sabillo pressured most of the fight Buitrago boxed really nice and dodged and rolled a lot of punches. I tell you what sabillo should thank heaven that when he got cracked in the ninth that the ropes were there because if not he would have been on his back. Great fight hopefully a rematch is made and it is fought on a neutral site.
