Point of fact Floyd didn't make JMM do anything that was his choice, kind of like how people say Oscar made a choice to fight Manny at 147 so Manny deserves respect for beating the zombie.

Floyd didn't go seeking JMM out, JMM called out Floyd and JMM is a stud who wanted to see the best at his best.

Marquez fought Floyd because it's where the money was at. JMM has a very high opinion of himself too. That doesn't mean it was a great accomplishment for Floyd. Good win over a good fighter, but the circumstances around that fight made it very obviously one-sided from the moment it was signed, and Floyd's weigh-in made it even worse.

JMM said he wanted to challenge the best, that was what he said.

Floyd is a bit bigger, JMM started at 126 and Floyd at 130. So yea Floyd is a bit bigger, but JMM is no slouch it was a classic case of great bigger man beats great smaller man. Still it is not like that wasn't an impressive performance or that JMM was just some random clown he was still a top dude who went on to do quality things after the fight.

All that stuff didn't change for the Bradley fight either, JMM is still the same small guy only 4 years older who has looked worse for wear.

Floyd had been a welterweight fighter for years when he fought JMM, JMM had one lightweight fight and that was it. When JMM fought Bradley he'd been a welterweight for three years.

Both Floyd and Marquez moved up from smaller weights, but the difference is Floyd was an established welterweight when he fought Marquez; Juan wasn't.

It was a dominating win by Floyd, but you can't ignore the weight issue when looking at the fight.

Time in a weight class doesn't really make you bigger~ Floyd is taller and longer thus better proportioned to carry the weight hence he is a bit bigger but it is not like Floyd dwarfed him although he was rangy enough for that to matter.

Time passed does make someone older though, older especially talking 36-40 is a bigger deal than the weight~

I actually can because look at the whole build-up to that fight, what did Floyd or anyone associated with Floyd say "it's a welterweight fight" they said that a bunch JMM knew what the deal was because he isn't a sap. JMM wanted to fight Floyd at his best because he is a stud, beating Floyd at less than his best would not have been as meaningful to JMM.

Still this was all a choice by JMM Floyd didn't force anything on him
