Berto has average defense and Broner is slightly better. He is FAR more compared to Berto's style with slightly better defense than compared to the great Toney. Anyone can have decent defense when it is not ATG's throwing punches at you. Till then, he is a Berto knock off. He will either fit moniker and will ONLY lose it if he can show a so called "tremendous defense" against great fighters and that is why his name does not belong in with an ATG like Toney. Till he shows it IF he has it, he does not get compared to Toney in any way.

Look, it seems that you have this Berto thing stuck in your head. You're way off on this one. Berto can't even defend himself on the inside let alone from long distance. Berto bad atg fighters throwing at him? When? Broner patterns his defense after Toney. That's it.

Same thing has happened to Broner that happened to Berto, only difference is that Berto has been hit by better opponents, by a significant margin.

Berto tried his shoulder with top competition and it didnt work. He never tried it with lower level competition. He never used it until his last 2 fights so bringing up the shoulder roll for a guy like Berto is irrelevant cause thats not his style, period.

What do you mean Broner's shoulder roll didnt get work against Paulie? Paulie barely landed and clean shots and he himself admitted it he wasnt landing a lot of clean shots.

And yes you did bring up physical features such as bigger upper body and body type. That has nothing to do with boxing skills. In terms of actual boxing skills there are no similarities. Go back up and re-read your posts. That's only the bottom line to you. Nobody else on here is vouching for you. Youre just talking as of you got all of boxingscene here rallying behind you as to who Broner fights like. If anyone does agree with you its cause if there hate for Broner as personality so they want to discredit him anyway as possible.

I never said Bertos shoulder roll worked against top opposition but Broner has yet to face the same opposition so it has yet to be proven if his is better but Broner still fights similar. Pauli landed over 200 punches and Reese had no problem landing. Again, wait till he has fought a number of the best and see if his shoulder roll is effective. And since when did this have nothing to do with fighting style: "leans back, haunches over, crosses his arms, slow footwork, similar lead rights, shoulder roll, they way he steps forward"???????? Boxing is a business. Mexicans are one of the biggest fanbases in the world. Their patronage is what would float a ppv. Am I latino? No. Am I offended he excluded me in interest of drumming up support in a very lucrative fanbase? No. Do I still support Maidana? Hell yes.

I agree Broner's shoulder roll is overrated. Toney, even at hw, is more fluid with his movements. Broner is too rigid, up and down, and cement footed for his style to be effective at higher levels. Having slow footwork and one arm always tucked up and a tendency to shell up is gonna leave his body open to Maidana all night. And Maidana is an assassin in there I really believe he will cause Broner to shell up a lot. As to the comparison, his shoulder roll is better than bertos. His footwork is similar though, and his reliance on size speed and strength.. Also I believe his composure is closer to berto level than toney's. I really think Maidana is gonna break the kid to pieces.

Toney had ATG fighters throwing at him. Resolve your reading comprehension issues. Berto has had better fighters throwing at him. When Broner has fought better comp, come back to me and we will talk about how effective his shoulder roll is. But this is not about the shoulder roll.....you missed the point again. This is about who Broner most resembles in his fighting style and many have pointed to Berto including myself. Live with it.

Put up a poll....I guarantee you people will pick that he looks more like Berto than Toney. And it is not about Reese or Pauli stunning Broner, it is about how easy it is to hit him, something you missed altogether. Broner has never been in those situations that Berto has been in because he has never fought anyone with Weltwerweight power and that is why he has not even proven a defense or lack of against the same guys Berto has. The hardest hitter Broner has faced was against a Featherweight De Leon and that hardly counts. Put up a poll and you will see Berto is chosen over Toney as a comparison. No one is saying he fights exactly like anyone but I have watched Toney since he was a middleweight contender. No comparison to me. Like I said, put up a poll.

Are you saying that Paulie stunned Broner? Either you are just kidding or you just don't have an eye for talent. Demarco punches harder than De Leon.
What is a poll going to do? Our eyes are telling us what we are seeing. Berto does not even pose a similar stance like Broner. The only thing that you are saying that is on point is that Broner has not been in tougher situations as Berto. That's it!
