Watching his last few fights including tonights pretty much solidifies my belief that nobody at 140-154 would bet a betting favorite or even odds against Floyd
What he does that makes him so hard to hit isn't his defense, it's actually got less to do with his defense than most people think
Floyd is hard to hit because of his offense, because he doesnt fight at a rhythmic pace. he throws punches when his opponent doesnt expect which in turn doesnt allow his opponent to either counter effectively nor "punch with him", as well as his incredible timing and ability to handle the big stage like he's in the gym
for somebody to even be competitive with Floyd, they would have to accept the fact that they're going to get hit and try repeatedly to force Floyd to open up giving yourself opportunities to land during exchanges, you also have to force Floyd away from the center of the ring because despite how good he is on the ropes, he's damn near invincible in the center of the ring. no flat footed fighter beats Floyd, he simply moves too well in the ring
you also have to find a way to frustrate Floyd and get him thinking less about winning and more about hurting you or retaliating.
straight punches will land from the left side (straight left, or orthodox jab), right hand needs to hook upstairs or straight to the body
it requires so much thought and effort to not only carry out this gameplan but then not get absorbed by the bright lights and big moment
just my thoughts
if Floyd keeps fighting 154 and lower, he retires easily undefeated
