Comments Thread For: Chisora Hopes Gerber Victory Will Lead To Klitschko

Dereck Chisora will take on Germany's Edmund Gerber for the vacant European heavyweight title at the Copper Box Arena on September 21.

The Briton will continue to rebuild his career after two stoppage wins since his return from suspension by the British Boxing Board of Control following his clash with David Haye in Germany last year.

'Del Boy' beat American Malik Scott in July and will go into the fight with Gerber as a heavy favourite after the title was vacated by Kubrat Pulev.

Gerber (23-1) has a padded record but it still came as a surprise when he was beaten by veteran Brit Michael Sprott on points last December.

Chisora is a complete moron. Why would beating an unknown bum entitle him to a shot at the champ?

What did Pieneta or Jean Marc Mormeck do to "earn a shot at the champ"?

He didn't say that actually, he said it's "another step closer" to the Klitschko brothers.

Anyhow the fight's significance is that it is for the European title and Chisora also just defeated Malik Scott so his claims are strengthening.

Hell, Chisora has a better resume than most of the other contenders. Scott, Helenius and 12 rounds with Vitali is better than what pretty much anyone outside of top 6-7 has.

These jokers didn't earn a shot, clearly. Try were both trash. But if chisora is planning on getting a shot based on a victory, he should step up the competition.

He's fought the likes of Vitali, Haye, Helenius, Scott and hes only had like what? 20 fights or something? He hung with all of them too. He's a better opponent for Wlad than most in the HW division.l

If wladimir klitschko decides to fight in december again i think chisora would be the front runner to face him.. of course if he beats gerber
