Louis by mid to late rounds stoppage. There was no better or accurate combination punching heavyweight...maybe at any weight. Evander liked to mix it up to much and even if he came in with the plan to box, once he gets tagged he goes in the war path which plays into Joe's hands. He doesn't have Conn's speed or Schmeling's discipline to sit back and just pick his spots. Holy is an ATG, but he'd be in over his head in my opinion.

Regardless of the surely obvious fact that he's better all around, Just consider this; If Holyfirld were to be magically transported to Louis's era, there would be no steroids, and Louis would just make him another win. If Louis were to be transferred to Holyfield/s time, either Louis would also be on steroids, or Chappie Blackburn would not allow the fight until he was sure Holyfield was clean. If Louis can come to the 90s then so can his trainer....... Ergo....Q.E.D.

Most haven't even seen Louis fight they just echo what others do. To say the guy wasn't flawed and limited is ridiculous. holyfield was an athletic guy and a great boxer, but he was too willing to put his head down and take punches. this is probably an example of a fighter who would win a fight, but would't. louis might be the most dangerous offensive fighter ever. his right hand was absurd. short, accurate, and hard as F. holyfield would end up trading.


my only question would be about louis' ability to deal with a mobile fighter of that size. billy conn was tall, but he had a much shorter reach and was naturally much smaller of bone and muscle than holyfield. louis was behind on the judges cards at the time of the stoppage in the first conn fight.
