    PUERTO RICO- Former two time world champion Giovani Segura started training in Puerto Rico, as he prepares for a war this Saturday, August 17, against the undefeated Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez which headlines the show “Noche de Campeones DIRECTV” to be held at the International Ballroom of El San Juan Resort and Casino in Isla Verde, Carolina, Puerto Rico, in a PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) presentation, in association with Top Rank to be broadcast on DIRECTV.

    Segura (29-3-1, 25 KOs) will face Bomba Gonzalez (13-0, 11 KOs) for the WBO Latino flyweight title in a bout scheduled to 10 rounds. Earlier today, Segura was training at the Felix Pagan Pintor Gym in Guaynabo, where Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon was the Administrator. Segura has two wins over Calderon, a former titlist in 105 and 108 pounds.

                I agree a lot of people get excited when they beat a guy that's well past his prime shame I guess Canelo beat a prime Mosley to.

                  he beat a prime Iron Boy he was still undefeated, Segura retired him

                  Segura didnt look so good in his last fight against Edgar Sosa, n i havent see Gonzalez fight at all

                    He was no where near prime

                    He was undefeated, only because he had enough ring IQ to get out of the fights with Jesus Iribe and Rodel Mayol. He was plain to see on the wrong side of his career. He fought Segura when he was 35. Prime Calderon wouldn't have struggled w/ Iribe and Mayol. Segura got him at the best time he could. Nothing more. Just a young, hungry and much bigger man. Prime Calderon would have been able to keep the tempo he established in the first six rounds of the first fight when he was just outboxing him bad. Calderon was no where near prime, but if that makes you all feel better, rock on.
