Boxing transcends mere sport. As a champion you have certain responsibilities and limits which a cheap pit fighter can easily commit.

Stuff like cowardice, too much ducking, insulting but not backing it up, overpricing yourself are traits which you can tolerate any club fighter.

For world champs... a different, albeit a higher set of standards apply.

And it has nothing to do with being a coward.

    good post ma man

I was impressed with Pac how he could come back after really being outclassed the first half of the fight to dominate the way he did the second half.......MAB is scared and rightfully so I suppose I don't see him beating Pac now after the way he handled Morales.

I hope "El matador" gives you a beating worst than what Pacman gave you and put you on retirement.

Damn, after 2 long years of excuses? Anybody who comes to this thread and gives an excuse for Barreras cowardice is an IDIOT.

it's extremely unfair at this point to say Barrera is "avoided" or "ducking" Pacquiao.. again, this fight with Chavez has been in planning for awhile now, plus, wouldn't you think Pacquiao would like to rest a bit after completely dismantling one of the toughest guys in the sport? I mean, that's what he said he'd like in his post-fight, but maybe he was kidding or something and he's not exhausted. The fight is going to happen, it basically has to, people just need to calm down though and show some patience here. I guarentee it happens this year. Again, too many people don't realize what a threat Chavez is in this equation.

It may be considered a cowardly move, but it's a smart one. Barrera got hammered in the first fight, and anyone who watched that fight knows that MAB does not match up with Manny. History would repeat itself. Barrera should, however, come out and say "Pacquiao beat me badly, and I don't think my style matches up with his, so rather than fight an unwinnable fight, I'm gonna fight another champion." Barrera-Chavez will be a good fight, and I honestly don't blame MAB for not wanting any part of Pacman. His mistake was to come out and say "I want the winner", when he really meant, I want Morales, if he wins.

Good Post man, thanks for saying this, I guess every one is still caught up in the hype that they forgot how degerous "Matador" Chavez is. I understand trying to regain your glory in beating a man that KOed you, but this is one is for the "history" books I mean just imagine a fight with to of the biggest sluggers in the sports this is a slug fest in the making this fight kinda reminds me of the first Barrera-Morales it promises (imo) an all out war from beggining to end, their styles just tell you that it will be pressure from both sides all night long. Just imagine Barrera trying to make History by winning titles in four different weight classes, and Chavez is not going to let any one take his title specially in his first title deffense.

People who believe that Barrera lost to pac because he had an "off night".....shouldn't believe that. Considering MAB obviously doesn't believe that, himself. If he truly believed he had an off night, he'd be seeking a rematch. He has done everything but seek that out.

barrera must not seen chavez fight..pacquaio is the safer fight for barrera in my opinion..chavez only lose to mayweather..and morales (whom he would have beat if his shoulder didnt mess up in that fight)

Chavez is a very strong & relentless fighter.....& quite good, at that.
I think MAB picked the wrong guy, & the wrong type of fighter, at this point. MAB will not be able to keep up with Chavez, IMO.
