Mine has to be Joel Julio. After seeing him a few times on ShoBox i literally thought he was the next Tito Trinidad.

Also Juanma and Jermaine Taylor, Jeff Lacy and Samuel Peter
Those guys all did win titles and where in major fights, but i thought they were going to be the next big ppv stars.

Dominck Guinn was another guy i was really high on till I watched him punch himself vs James Toney.

Cant really remember any of the hype jobs back in the day 80's-90's except for maybe Dana Rosenblatt. I remember Arum saying in 1995 that Dana-oscar for the middleweight belt would be the biggest fight in boxing

Also Jeremy williams was sweet in the 90's on Espn boxing.

Now all i remember him is the way Samuel peter brutally ko'd him

He wasn't really hyped but i thought Angelo Santana was gna be better than he was he got broken down, That bahama mama guy sure whipped him.

I really like Hanzel Martinez. Fun as hell to watch, his defensive flaws became very apparent in his last fight. He was was ko by another decent prospect Alejandro Gonzalez jr. I'm not totally writing Martinez off yet, he migh be able to bounce back after that loss. But he is most likely a bust.

I'm still a big fan and I was really big on him too lol. I love punchers. David looked legit and then lost the Rubio and Alcine fights that he really should have won.

Perhaps there's still time but I have big doubts.
