Comments Thread For: Julio Diaz: Amir Khan Was Making The Same Mistakes

Welterweight contender Julio Diaz says Amir Khan is still making the same mistakes that caused him to lose recent fights to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia. Khan admits that he will have to spend more time with his trainer Virgil Hunter in San Francisco after being floored on his way to a twelve-round points victory over Diaz at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on Saturday.

he said he made the same mistakes, but in the ring he adjusted, he could overhear Virgil telling what to do and he was listening, which made it difficult for him to finish Khan off

I think every time I don't live up to the lofty and unrealistic expectations I make for myself, I'm going to preserve my fragile self esteem by calling it"making a mistake," instead of just facing up to the fact that I'm not as good as I thought I was. Khan needs to just face the fact that he has no chin, will never fight Mayweather or any top level lb 4 lb fighter, and his best days are behind him. Once he does that, then the healing can begin and he can make the best out of what he has.

I don't understand how he doesn't realize why he gets caught. It's the ****ing same thing every time. Do something about it.

Virgil Hunter can't make anyone looking the same way Andre Ward looks like. Ward has a monster talent which allow him to adapt to whatever style he meets... Besides, Ward possess a high level of intelligence -- which is not limited to the ring. Such a thing requires brains -- that's exactly waht Khan doesn't seem to have.
Hunter should let Khan go; there's no point in training him.

so is there a point to this? of course he was. khan has, and always will be the same fighter. virgil and no one else will ever change that. in his mind he is A+ but in reality B / B-

sorry but its true. he always has been and always will be. he just isnt what his fans want him to be. is he entertaining to watch? sure. cause almost everytime he gets touched with a legit shot, its like watching boxing and dancing with the stars in one!
