If Donaire's prep was lacking, then that's mostly due to Garcia's incompetence. If training camp went as planned, then Donaire has to admit that he was simply outclassed by a superior fighter.
I found it less than a coincidence that shortly before the 10th round when it appeared that Rigo could conceivably win a shutout, Jim Lampley, prompted by his producer, announced that Donaire only spent two weeks in person with trainer Garcia (or Garcia was absent the last two weeks, whatever). The excuses started before the post-fight interview.
This smoke screen smells like gym socks. For all the excuses about Nonito not being 100% for this fight, I have yet to hear Team Donaire demanding a rematch. They know losing to Rigo and getting his face busted up again would be highly damaging to Donaire's standing (and therefore earning power).
