Good video. I find myself watching most of these and coming away impressed.

No one beats age, floyd though may be a rare fighter in the fact that his smartness allows him to still be very good even when his physical gifts start to fade. Sure other fighters like bhop have done well late, but they did not start out with the sheer gifts of speed, and athleticism as pbf. Jordan is one who comes to mind if i were to compare anyone to pbf to making a similar transition. Dont get it twisted tho......i hate the mofo, but i will give respect, and open mindedness of the situation.

The smart fight for Floyd will be to take the passive aggressive approach which is moving forward, forcing Guerrero back, but letting him lead in terms of punching and countering him. Then opening up on him later in the fight. I anticipate this fight looking a lot like the Ortiz fight but Guerrero's heart and lack of ******ity will make the fight last longer.

I loved the way he described Guerrero...

"Straight up, no special effects" lol

That's the way you fight guys like that. Walk them into traps and let them beat themself. Frustrate them, then finish them.

Floyd is going to TKO Guerrero.

I didnt watch the video but I pretty much disagree with Barry and everyone of the opposite opinion. I dont think Floyd fighting that way has anything to do with fans/media like Barry thinks and I also dont think it had anything to do with Cotto being great like others think.

I think his mentality just changed. I think alot of it had to do with his dad even though he actually feels the exact opposite. Meaning his dad wants Floyd to use his legs more & box but this mainly started against Mosley in which his dad set the game plan for Floyd to fight him in close because Shane is jittery and he knew Floyds fundementals would beat a jittery guy to the punch easily.

Now he has fought that way before but those were pretty much all against Southpaws. He wasnt doing it full time until the Mosley fight came. I think he trained that way full time for that fight and he sparred that way. He had a different mentality for that fight and when it played out so well, he wanted to stick with it because he felt strong and he also felt that despite him being the best pure boxer in the sport, he also knew that he is just as good in the pocket.

Now what happened against Cotto was that Cotto is low to the ground and very strong himself so it backfired and before Floyd knew it, he was in a dog fight that was too late to get out of. I dont think it had to do with Cotto from the sense that if Floyd had just boxed from the jump then there is no way he couldve done what he did to Floyd but Floyd's mindset was that he was the one that would be doing that to Cotto.

I dont think it had to do with fans/media. Floyd fought that way against Shane, loved it, and felt that he could do it to anyone who wasnt way bigger or stronger. I love having his dad back. I love him bringing back the movement and the jab but I have 2 fears. 1 is that this is the one fight left that I dont think Floyd really should be moving in. I think he should fight the Ghost the way he's been fighting all the other Southpaws and his recent fights.

I think he's stronger than Robert, quicker, and would kill him by walking him down. I think him going backwards or moving "may" actually give the Ghost his only chance to win. Id rather have his dad bring the jab and movement back when he fights his next fight against a righty or against stronger guys. Like against Canelo his dad would be perfect but I think against the Ghost, Floyd should bring the fight to him.

I dont trust Southpaws. Floyd might try to do something different than he normally does and end up getting caught with something crazy right on the end of the Ghost punch or by soemthing he doesnt see. Hopefully they stay agressive.

The other thing I fear with his dad being back is that he goes full on boxing, moving. I wanna see Floyd box, use his legs, but stay aggressive at the same time. Its a balance you have to find. I dont wanna see him hitting and running. I think fighting like he did against Hatton and some other fights will make him easier to beat. He has to find a balance where he can move but still be aggressive and commit to punches

I totally agree. He shouldn't change anything when it comes to fighting against southpaws unless he's fighting one who's a counter-puncher with good hand speed and foot speed.

He has shown a combination of both in the JMM fight[the last time he looked great in the ring]. He stood his ground and fought a bit aggressive in spurts, but he was hitting and moving constantly throughout the whole fight. I don't think it'd be a wise move for him to stand his ground against a fighter like Canelo though. Canelo is an in-spurts type of fighter who looks good when his opponents stands right in front of him.

I think Floyd will walk Guerrero down like has most southpaws. Guerrero can box, but fighting backwards is his weakest area. Floyd's been working on his right hand, left hook combo which he uses to find southpaws when he's walking them down.

Guerrero knows he can't outbox Mayweather, and his backup plan will be mauling. Floyd understands and is preparing for Guerrero's plan b. Floyd was left hooking on the pads with Roger, and this is a punch he rarely uses.

Floyd's father will prevent Floyd from getting too exciting when he walks Guerrero down. Floyd will take a measured approach behind a jab as he comes forward like the Ortiz and Judah fights.
