In a crowd-pleasing light middleweight affair between two hard-nosed Ukrainian fighters, younger and fresher but less talented and less experienced journeyman Igor Fanian (13-4-2, 7 KOs) scored his best career win, upsetting former world-ranked welterweight Victor Plotnikov (28-2, 13 KOs) over eight, very heated rounds. Fanian, 23, who was misjudged at least twice in his past against K2-promoted fighters (Dmytro Semernin and Valery Brazhnik), used his activity and workrate to deal more damage to his aging (35 years) opponent. Scores were: 77-77, 78-75 and 77-75 - in favour of Fanian.
