You call yourself a fan? Rocky died 14 years after his last fight, some "break" huh?

When you could take a punch like Marciano could, you didn't need talent! You could ****ing wear your opponents away with your durability then knock them over when you see the opening. Marciano had a lot of natural power, and he had amazing stamina that allowed him to punch as hard in the last round as he could in the first round.

are you a fan? how many boxers actually retire? none, there can be 80 yrs old and want to box, boxers never retire in my opinion. they just slow down.

              a weak era of boxing
right, joe louis, jersey joe walcott, harry matthews, archie moore and ezzard charles were weak fighters
but trevor berbick, carl "truth" williams, james "bonecrusher" smith and michael "im actully a light heavyweight" spinks was probably the most competitive era in boxing...
(sidenote, please do not attempt to add larry holmes to this list and expect anyone to believe that he was legit competition at this point in his career)

by the way, moore was rockys last fight, when he was out of his prime, yet he still knocked moore down 5 times and ko'd him in the ninth. not a strong argument there. also, moore had 131 career knockouts... he wasnt exactly feater fisted.

I've never heard anybody say Marciano was a skilled boxer.

sometimes, a granite chin, and huge power, is all you need.

There's a difference between "retiring" then coming back 5 years later, but 15? Come on! HE RETIRED
