Comments Thread For: Rahman’s Trainer: I Forgot More Than Kostya Tszyu Knows

Former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman is scheduled to face current heavyweight titleholder Alexander Povetkin on Sept. 29. Rahman, who is approaching 40, last fought in June 2011; his fight with Povetkin had initially been set for July, but an injury forced their fight to be postponed.

Rahman’s trainer, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, spoke with krikya360.com in early September about the upcoming bout, particularly about the mocking Povetkin’s camp had done about Rahman’s weight, but also about Povetkin’s new trainer — former junior welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu.

I certainly wouldnt be advertising the fact that i train hasim rahman. Him and danny williams should slug it out in a battle of the bums that wont go away.

I think this is a cry for help from Rahman. He keeps saying how much he forgot about boxing, and seemed to have difficulty remembering who Tszyu was. I'm suprised they cleared him to fight. Sounds like early onset Alzheimers.

It was Rahman's trainer who said that. Mustafa talkin a lot of shit to get Rahman hyped up, but I doubt this fight will be competitive.

Tszyu retired on his stool and didn't answer the bell for the 12th.

I know. As I said, he didn't knock him out. One could argue that a stoppage is a knock out but let's be frank, he didn't knock him out.

agreed, in my book a knockout is when someone is " knocked out" not " cant be bothered fighting you anymore man you win"
