And I believe he threw 108 punches or something like that in round 11, that took a lot out of him, plus all the constant movement.

If they rematch it's not like chavez can just suddenly catch him and knock him out. Chavez caught him numerous times throughout the fight that didn't phase martinez. Only in the 12th when martinez was damn near out of steam.
exactly, the 12th round was due to martinez slowing down, not chavez showing more urgency, martinez got hit with some bombs in the 11th too, he just didn't stagger
it's not like chavez came out on the 12th guns blazing, the round was going exactly the same as the previous ones 1-2 minutes in before chavez landed that big right hand, obviously he'd step on it now that martinez is visibly vulnerable

had that right hand not landed, the 12th would've been exactly the same as the rest of the majority of the fight

I am curious to know just when Martinez hurt his knee and hand.

I thought we were gonna have a repeat of the Chavez Sr-Taylor fight.

        Still, Jr earned my respect.

thats just not true. Martinez was tired but to say that chavez wasnt throwing more is just lying. He actually listened to Roach when he said you have to exchange with em. Chavez was tired as spit, he could have finished him off.

We know he gets completely destroyed when fighting guys that are actually his size. He will continue to fight at MW until he gets to that age where he can no longer cut that much weight so he can have size advantage.

Can anyone imagine what the SMW's would do to this fraud? The martinez beating wouldn't be nothing. I mean just think what Ward, Froch, Kessler, AA would do to this poor kid?

Like I said Martinez showed everyone why Bob Arum didn't want to make this fight.
ya if he has too much problems with the weight he should just move up.

no way to know, but I'm guessing he hurt his knee when he was knocked down. He seemed to fall on his leg in a awkward way. Plus he obviously was moving fine the entire fight so I doubt he suffered a leg injury earlier than that. as for his hand who knows.

Couple of pointers on my thought:
              • Martinez schooled Chavez as expected
              • Chavez has some chin and heart mainly down to his bigger size but still I expected martinez to knock him out
              • The knockdown was due to Martinez going toe-to-toe which he said he would do
              • Chavez was tired, people who say he learned he should throw more are not entirely correct. Chavez knows he gonna be tired, if he did throw more and no one punch connected, he would have gotton knocked out in the later rounds
              • There is absolutely no need for a rematch chavez got schooled. I'd suspect martinez would not go toe-to-toe in the end like he did if a rematch happens

Chavez Jr's success is relied on him being the bigger man. If he moved up and actually fought guys his size, he wouldn't be anywhere near as successful as he has been, if you even want to call it that.

Junior is the man. Period. Martinez has never been on ice like that.

Very doubtful. This fight gave him all the motivation he needed to be focused in training and he failed, miserably. Which is like I said he would, almost perfectly. Roach nearly got me the exact outcome that I predicted (Roach stopping the fight late).
