Comments Thread For: Roberto Cammarelle is Disgusted, Plans To Turn Pro

Heavyweight Roberto Cammarelle said he was disgusted with amateur boxing after Sunday's defeat to Britain's Anthony Joshua in the gold medal final at the London Olympics. He failed to defend the super heavyweight title he won in Beijing four years ago. Cammarelle won two of the three rounds but the contest finished level on points but the host-country's fighter was awarded victory after a recount of the punches landed.

With his kind of Power it will be fun to watch him at the Pros

Look at this Brutal and Amazing KO over Cuban Robert Alfonso Acea (there's also on youtube his victory over Savon) and his stoppage over Brit Prospect David Price.

"Certe cose, ad un atleta che ha gi?32 anni, fanno venire voglia di smettere immediatamente con il pugilato? «No, almeno i campionati italiani voglio farli - risponde Cammarelle , poi andr?avanti ragionando anno dopo anno. Comunque a Rio non ci sar?e....

When they questioned him, if he will quit boxing... he said no, at least I would like to be the Italian Champion, and then I would go on thinking year after year, Rio will not be there.

So that means he will try to be the Italian Champion at the Professional ranks, and I don't think he's talking about the Amateur Italian Championships, he has been the undisputed Italian SHW Champion since 2003 lol.

Fragomeni turn pro at 32, and won a championship at Cruiserweight.

With his fame in Italy, he could fight lots of tomato cans, and he will get loaded, and after that a shot for a World Title Fight, he already achieved his dreams with his medals at the Olympics, Bronze at Athens, Gold at Beijing, and well "Silver" at London but we know it's a Gold.

Italianos will sell out his fights.

He's got a real akward style and some heavy hands. He has the potential to go far, but age is not on his side. we'll see though....

Price would want to keep that chin well tucked in if he was fighting Cammarelle after what the Italian did to him, even with Price wearing a headguard
