Everybody wants a piece of "Money" May. Canelo should be forced to face Cotto before thinking about seeing Floyd. Golden Boy for some reason thinks if Canelo beats Lopez that should be enough to get him a shot at the Cash Cow of boxing. Wrong!!! I got news for ya....Mayweather vs Canelo will not happen until he (Canelo) proves that he can beat someone in the top 3... like Cotto. Beat Cotto and maybe Roger Mayweather will take a look at Canelo's application and place it along with about 5 others who wish to enter into the Mayweather sweepstakes.

People can hate on him all they want, but the reality is that Canelo is the biggest threat to Floyd that is out there. There's really nobody at 147 or 154 that poses as much of a challenge. He's physically very strong, young, smart, has good defence and puts his punches together really well. I'm hoping that we can see them square off in December should Alvarez get past Lopez which I believe he will. Mayweather against anybody else would be a dissapointment in my eyes. And i'm tired of people attacking his resume saying who has he beat. He's like 21 years old and still has years and years ahead of him to build a great resume and legacy. Just because Miguel Cotto has a better resume does not mean he would be a better opponent. Floyd dominated Cotto and there were only 3 rounds in that fight that were even competitive, so there is no need to see a rematch. People need to realise that styles make fights, the resume is far less important, and Canelo has a style that would challenge Floyd and bring out the best in him, more so than any other realistic opponent at 147 or 154. Sergio Martinez is too big and the Manny Pacquiao fight just isn't going to happen. Bob Arum simply won't allow it to happen.Last edited by JK1700; 07-22-2012, 02:55 PM.

Are you talking about the guy that "Contender" Alfonso Gomez was dominanting until a premature stoppage happened thanks to Oscar?
Also look at the first round vs Lightweight Jose Miguel Cotto.
Look how he put Canelo on ***** street in the first round, if that would have been Alfonso Gomez, the ref would have stopped the fight.
