Ali and Abraham deserve tremendous credit for fighting with broken jaws but that doesn't mean you as a fan should berate someone for choosing not to continue.
Took the words out of my mouth.

While we would all of course like to see a blood and guts warrior mentality in boxers, it is an exception not the norm. That's why Abraham and Ali received the admiration they deserved when they overcame physical and mental barriers, but can't expect all fighters to be like that. That's why heart is a category all its own in a fighter's skill-set. Some have more of it than others, and that's what makes some more loved even if they lack something else in the technical department.

I am not going to fault Ortiz for choosing not to continue. It leaves a bad taste in a fan's mouth, especially with his prior history, but I can't fault him too much for it.

Wel Bo-j we do have togive Victor credit for finishing the round, but If you are a Warrior than you must finish the fight. IMO Ortiz is just not Warrior enough to be an elite Boxer.

Let me say I would not be able to continue with a broken jaw. If I could I'd be a pro fighter. But seriously. This ranks up there with one of my top three fights that pissed me off. He could have run the rest of the fight and maybe won. Take that back I could continue with a broken jaw if I had a million to make on an upcoming fight. Seriously I hope Ortiz is on ESPN til he's 30. A true mental midget. Makes Tyson look like a giant.

While I could understand Ortiz not wanting / being able to continue with a broken jaw, the dude´s just not mentally ready to be in prizefights! All the pre fight talk about the Mayweather fight, the Maidana fight and how he´s matured bla bla... All BS.

Check the blow behind the head, that´s when I thought "here we go again". Dude should call it a day, no one takes him serious anymore. Oh btw Canelo would´ve ****d em.

What was even more funny was Ortiz telling the ref he couldn't continue then jumping out his chair faking like he wanted to go on lol.

Wow this guy has killed his career.

ORTIZ = This generation's Fernando Vargas.
ABSOLUTELY NO When did Vargas ever quit????????He went out on his shield like a fighter

i understand his jaw is broken. he couldnt take the pain ok, hes not a warrior. but dont go in the interview cracking jokes about it like ur happy u won. all he did rite there was take away all of the good will he was able to build up since the maidana fight. to me, that is for him. he may be a gate keeper, ****, he may even beat lopez in a rematch but he'll never be elite. he doesnt have the mentality no matter how u try to force it on him.
