Comments Thread For: Winky Wright Not Relying On Past Glory To Beat Quillin

He’s not a renowned superstar by any stretch, but the name Winky Wright still rings out in boxing circles. The 40-year old southpaw returns to the ring on June 2, following a three-year hiatus.

The inactive stretch was part by choice and partly forced, as fights were scheduled in between but fell through due to financial issues with the event handlers. No such concerns surround Wright’s upcoming showdown with undefeated middleweight Peter Quillin, which airs live from the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. as part of a televised quadruple header on Showtime.

At least Winky is honest about things. I think that will be a good fight, haven't seen too much of Quillin but he has speed and good power shots.

I hope this fight ends in Knockout. Hate to see Winky's back on the canvas, but it'll put an end to these AARP boxers trying to make a comeback. Quillin's taking him to Pluto.

sorry Winky but Quillin wins this fight no matter what happens. it's called Al Haymon. that pretty much insures a decison for Quillin.

Hopefully Quillin actually looks impressive and we won't have to go there
