I thought it was a sad effort by Bute. Froch just crushed him. I feel a part of his breakdown was the fact that he was not fighting in front of a hometown crowd for once. The big factor however was that Froch could take it as well as give it.
Bute took his whipping and to his credit tried to hang in there but he was too easily affected by Froch's punches and had nothing to avoid the onslaught except by crudely hanging on.
Good decision by the cornerman to put an end to the slaughter which the referee was willing to let continue. I don't care about Froch's crew jumping into the ring pre-maturely because the fight for all purposes looked finished at that point.
