Back in the day, there were many great fighters. Boxing as a sport had a much larger gene pool at that time. There was literally 100X as many fighters as there are today, so when it came to top talent, that was much higher than today.
Today there are still great fighters, but the amount is so much smaller and frankly, they do not fight each other nearly as often due to frequently avoiding each other. Way back when, the Charley Burley's were rare as they all fought each other.

I'm more awe struck by Floyd Mayweather or Pernell Whitaker than I am of Ray Robinson. Despite him being much greater of the three.
I don't get where these ideologies come from.
Where have I said you must be awe struck of Ray Robinson? Or anyone for that matter?
It's not a crime to point flaws out in some of the older ATG's. No one has implied that.
No one has said that older fighters are better "Because they're older". And again, that is not what Bojangles said. And I'm still yet to see it quoted.
This whole thread is based of a claim that is frankly bull****.
Not specifcially awe struck but you get the point. For example, If you post a vid of hearns destoying Pipino or Duran, does that mean he does same to manny or floyd?
