Comments Thread For: Mayweather Associate Takes Plea Deal in Shooting Case

An associate of boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. took a plea deal Friday that could get him 18 years in prison for shooting at two men in a car after one of the men argued with Floyd Mayweather Jr. at a Las Vegas skating center in August of 2009, according to The Las Vegas Sun. Authorities say seven shots were fired and six hit the car, but neither man in the BMW sedan was wounded.

I don't see that for 3 time convicted felon dude doing at least 8-10. I say the prosecuetor ****ed for bringing PBF name into just for dude plea deal. I mean unless dude said he shot at them for PBF that makes no sense for that to be on record. PBF should move out of Vegas cause shlt like that is not right. Some people got it out for dude in Vegas.

well he's not a 3 time loser in the true since. Its not like he had 1 felony 10 years ago, another 5 years ago, and these now. All 3 felonies they were speaking of were from this plea deal so thats a lil different,. They are felonies though and the prosecuetor & judicial system in Vegas doesnt seem to favor Floyd and his guys very much so they could light his ass up though.......lol

I don't understand you. How do they have no proof of anything? Idoubt that the convicted Mayweather "associate" stooge would agree with you, because whatever they have, it was enough for him to accept a plea bargain which may get him 6 years. I'm only surprised that they didn't charge him with either 2 or 7 counts of attempted murder. The mere effect of shooting a bullet into the car is a potential murder attempt. And who ever heard of a charge of "shooting at a car"... That's like a charge of trespassing. The American Justice System is the most messed up collection of contradictions I've ever come across.

As for the Mayweather connection, I wouldn't think that the evidence they have connecting them together is just a "do you have a match sir" or "can you spare me a dollar"..... If it has any perceived connection to the shooting, like "getting" the two people in the car, the next move will be to charge Mayweather with being an accessory or perhaps the instigator. And perjury as well, perhaps.

I always thought that the prosecution settles for a plea-bargain only if the burdens-of-proof are complicated and difficult to prove. They must have had enough evidence to be sure of a conviction for the D.A. to decide on arrest and charge in the first place, and the guy is a potential murderer.

Mayweather has to clean up his act. He's just been lucky so far, but now they'll have him on the books so will be paying more attention to him.

That is, if the prosecutor is an anti-corruption straight shooter. (pardon the pun)

I agree with your 3-time felony opinion, but not the rest. I think that the Las Vegas justice system does look at Mayweather favourably. A good example is that with all the woman beatings, threats, assaults, etc. he's been known to do, he was only sentenced on this last one. And it was a paltry term which will likely result in only about 75 days behind bars. Corrales got 2 years for a similiar offence, and wasn't a serial woman beater like Mayweather has shown to be. The guy has bodyguards with pistols, but still needs to personally assault some people, especially when they're women.

                    Or so it seems.
