These are technicalities and in reality, both sides are right.

Reed--I'm as big a Cotto fan as there is, but after the second knee he straight looked to his corner and shook his head no.(it actually might have been after the first knee). He acknowledges that he gave up in every interview.

And you know what? It's totally fine. See the idiots that just lump "quitters" together are morons. There is a MASSIVE difference between what Cotto did and what Ortiz did. No one could really give Cotto **** for how he went out....the guy had NOTHING left. But some sickos would have preferred it if Cotto just stood there until Margarito beat him half to death....he bowed out when he could hardly stand anymore.

Cotto gave up, but it was entirely justifiable. That doesn't make him a quitter.

To me there's a difference between noticeably still being able to fight, and choosing not too... and it being obvious that you have nothing left, you take a knee, you STILL get up.. and the corner steps in because you're a bloody mess.

Cotto fought as long as his body could take it... Victor Ortiz quit because he didn't want to get to that point.

Yes it does. Tony beat it out of him and he quit. It was actually the purest form of quittage ever recorded.

Unlike Duran's "no mas" where Duran still had gas and quit cuz' he was pissed off. Cotto was forced to choose between quittage and his life.

              He famously chose quittage.

Mak, ask one of your friend to load his gloves with plaster and hit you for an hour with it and let's see if you don't break down.
