if thats not quitting I dont know what is. Dude took a knee with out one punch being landed as margs was rushing him. He took a knee out of fear and it was clear that he want to no more and his corner just followed miguels lead
I'll ask you the same serious question. How many fights have you been in?
I'm not talking about Mike Tyson's Punch Out or playing Mortal Kombat. Real fights...
Exactly, he knew the fight was over, just like everyone else did.
Listen to what you just said. The Ref, Steward, and Cotto all knew the fight was "over". So how does that make a guy with blood for a mask in the 11th round a quitter?
Let me ask you a serious question. Have you ever been in a fight or played any kind of major sport (i.e basketball, football, ect...)?
I really dont get what you're saying.
The fight was over in the sense that Margarito was about to knock him out or the ref was gonna stop it.
But Cotto himself stopped it before any of those two scenarios played out. He gave up. He quit.
streets fights like ten.
but what the fck does that have to do with the simple fact that he quit. He wanted no more every could see it and his corner just followed his orders. Like morales did against pac.
Ok, only 10, I guess that's better than most.
I'm not going to lie, I've lost quite a few fights. But anyone that's ever been in that situation will know. You fight, you give it your all and sometimes your legs give out and no matter how hard you fight, you just don't have it in you to go on. You don't quit, you just can't go on. It's a physical thing, not mental.
Look at those marathon runners. What do you call those guys that just drop and can't finish the race? Are they quitters also or did they give it their all but just couldn't finish.

I dunno how else it can be explained.
Of course you don't know what I'm saying. You're not a fighter or athlete. I can't expect you to speak the same language or know what it feels like to give it your all and just come up short and not have anything left.

IF Diego corrales would have had that loser mentality he would have NEVER made the biggest comeback in boxing history
Explain more skills. Do you think he quit or he was beaten until he couldn't fight anymore; his prime was possibly beaten out of him?
Remember the second KD where Cotto basically ran from Margarito and went down before a punch even touched him?
He was mentally and physically broken. He was winning that fight. However, slowly but surely Marg's shot were taking there toll on him. That sort of slow beating takes years off of your career man. It's much better for a quick KO then to be beaten on for 11 rounds and end up being broken to the point where you say "No Mas". **** was bad man.........real bad.

Like ten? Yeah rite. Maybe in elementary school. Everybody is a thug in this site. LOL

Disregard my questions.
I already did disregard them. Cos whenever someone pulls out the "you've never had a fight" card, you know they already lost.

That's where your problem arises. Cotto taking that knee was physical AND MENTAL. He was mentally broken, he didn't want to be in that ring anymore, he didn't want to fight anymore, he didn't want to be hit anymore. He was tired yes, he was beaten yes, but he was BROKEN. Mentally and Physically. It's hard to recover from that kind of loss.
