In a TV-opener of a small show promoted by Frank Warren at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester, England, Bulgarian upset specialist Alexey Ribchev (12-3, 3 KOs) scored a surprise decision over comebacking British slugger Matthew Hall (23-4, 16 KOs) in a battle of light middleweights. Ribchev, 29, looked like the stronger man in the first couple of rounds. Hall, bleeding from a cut over his forehead, enjoyed a strong rally in the middle of the fight but the end was Ribchev's once again. Hall, just 27, who took a year off since his loss to Lukas Konecny in 2010, looked a spent bullet against a deserving opponent. He is well adviced to retire for good. The score was 59-57 for Ribchev
