Barker fought well and there were some close rounds which Martinez won with work rate rather than punches landed. Im interested to see what Barker can do against the rest of the middleweiht division.
ps, Barker didnt take a dive, its only trolls who think that
No shame at all in losing to Martinez, he's the best middleweight on the planet and he gave a decent account of himself. He gave Martinez problems early in the fight (as I predicted) at one stage in the fourth Martinez looked hurt, Barker was afraid to let his hands go which is obviously understandable when you're up against someone as good as Martinez, although I thought Martinez looked very one dimensional.
It doesn't matter if he was nearly in tears the fact is that he knew he was gonna loose and didn't want to be in there anymore! He put up a good effort better then what I expected, but looking at the replay he didn't get hit with a clean shot to put him down like that! HE WANTED OUT!!!
I don't think he quit, I think his punch resistance is questionable tho. And Martinez landed shots all night long that tired Barker out. His chin/punch resistance has been questionable in other fights when he was rocked by that one nobody.
