There are ongoing talks between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions to stage the fight in early 2012. The promoters are eager to stage the contest in a Las Vegas venue, but Alvarez makes it clear that Mexico is going to be the frontrunner to stage the bout. but man, if chavez jr can't make the weight, **** it. this fight isn't dying to happen. chavez vs. rubio or martinez and alvarez vs. angulo or martirosyan are twice the fights this would be. both guys should step up in quality and level of opposition in their own respective weight classes. this fight can wait imo.

I am sick of this fkn rubbish, messing up our sport.

If you cant handle the heat, then get out of the kitchen.

They either fight within an existing division, or they dont fight at all.

If the weight disparity is so great that either side is forced to consider changing the structure within a particular division, then the fight is nothing more than an exhibition match anyways.

Boxing is being seriously diluted, and is fast becoming a joke.
