Using glue instead of stitches(boxing related)

I just saw the thread reporting Andre Ward had suffered a cut during sparring, and jeopardizing the SS finals.

Well, recently, my uncle's friend's kid, a 7 year old, suffered a nasty gash over his right eye. Just looking at the pics it looked like the kid was for sure gonna need stitches, the cut was deep and wide.

Well, the kid's dad told me that when they took him to the emergency room he was expecting his kid to receive several stitches. But, instead they shut the kid's cut using medical glue. Never heard of this before and I started thinking about boxing.

True, but, I hear that it heals faster compared to stitches, how much faster I'm not sure. Anyway, I wonder if boxing commissions should look into this medical glue, and they can make it okay to use during fights, it might be better than the current stuff cutmen are using now.

Look at the Aftermath part 3 on Fighthype about Mayweather. They also used glue instead of stitches for his cut.

I remember during fedor emelienkos fight with big nog they collided heads and fedor got a huge gash. Before they called it a NC they wanted to use crazy glue to close the gash.

Stitches also leave scars compared to glue.

I would think stitches would allow blood to circulate to the wound making it easier to regenerate tissue...where as glue likely would seal off circulation. Just a layman's opinion.

Medical glue is just a reformalized super glue. Super glue was first used in WWII as an experiment and was quite useful especially in battle where you need to close up someone's wounds fast and it was really helpful in preventing blood loss and they found out that less death occurs when this method was used instead of stitches. Then I think some chemicals where changed or something to make it safer in the surgery room a few years later. I actually use super glue to close my cuts. I had a fingernail cut in half a month ago and I used super glue to keep it attached to prevent the exposure of my deep skin. I let the nail grew and that's it. I don't think it's totally unsafe unless you have an allergic reaction to a household super glue.
