Comments Thread For: Saul Alvarez: I Want a Big Fight, I'll Return in September

GUADALAJARA, Jal - On Saturday night, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (37-0, 27KOs) was the happiest man in the arena after scoring a twelfth round knockout over a stubborn Ryan Rhodes to retain his WBC junior middleweight championship for the first time. Rhodes was the mandatory challenger appointed by the World Boxing Council.

I know I'm batting for the fences with this one but......

        Antonio Margarito vs Vanes Martirosyan
        Saul Alvarez vs Miguel Cotto
        Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz

        ON THE SAME DAY!!

It would be a great way for GBP and TOP RANK to make a truce... and MAKE loads of $$$

I wish he fights Cotto so all the Cotto bandwagoners shutup. Cotto is a good fighter but some posters here are thinking this is some Super-Prime Cotto.

It would be a good fight against Cotto but not a clear win for Cotto.

Make this for the Victor Ortiz- Floydette Undercard
            JCC Jr. vs Cotto
            Canelo vs Angulo

Have the losers and winners of the undercard fight each other next

So if Canelo and Cotto win they will fight next time and JCC will fight Angulo

damn its so ****ing refreshing to see a title holder that actually fights multiple times a year. he would only take a 3 month break, no one does that **** anymore.

I hope he does get a good fight in sept.

Hell yeah. Especially a entertaining boxer like Canelo. This is sweet. Coming back in 3 months for another fight. I'm a fan of his now... including Chris Arreola... dude is fighting non-stop. Arreola fights next month...again. Amazing.

This is what boxing needs, man. Phuck fighting once/twice a year. Too long.

Can't wait to watch Canelo fight again.

Looking at all top top guys at 154's schedules, Angulo is probably gonna be the best available guy for that Sept 17 date. I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo beat up El Perro.

Canelo didn't really take too much damage against Rhodes so a quick return to the ring isn't too crazy. It's just nice to see that he's willing to stay really active rather than taking more time off inbetween his fights. With that being said, I hope whoever he fights next is someone that will be more competitive.
